Notice to Our Patients of a Data Security Incident
Southern California Center for Anti-Aging is committed to protecting the confidentiality of our patient’s information. This notice describes an incident that may have involved some of that information.
On December 9, 2020, we learned that an unauthorized person may have gained access to an employee’s email account. We secured the account and undertook a comprehensive review of the contents of the email account. The review determined that some patient information was contained in the email account and may have included patient names and limited clinical information about care patients received from SCCAA.
On February 5, 2021, we began mailing letters to patients whose information may have been involved in the incident. In addition to mailing letters, we have established a dedicated call center for patients to call with questions. If patients have questions about this incident, they should call 1-888-984-9065, Monday through Friday, between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Pacific Time.
We recommend that patients whose information may have been involved in this incident review statements they receive from their healthcare providers. If they see services they did not receive, patients should contact the provider immediately.
We deeply regret any concern or inconvenience this incident may cause our patients. To help prevent something like this from happening again, we are implementing additional email security and enhancing our security infrastructure and systems.
